Horner is a utility player that primarily plays 2B and started all four years at Dyersburg. He was named the co-offensive player of the year and the most versatile player of the year. This past season he hit .448 (56 hits in 125 AB) and helped his team accomplish a fifth place finish in the state. While at Bethel he plans on working on his strength.
Horner is an excellent student named to the Honor Roll and is a Tennessee Scholar. He plans on majoring in Biology. He is the son of Kenton and Denise Horner.
Newsom is a pitcher/center fielder and started his final two years at Dyersburg. He was 2nd Team All-District, an All-West Tennessee All-Star and earned the Jim Tatum Hustle Award. He hit .311 this past season and considers his great strength his speed. Newsom was also being recruited by Milligan College (Tenn.). He wants to improve his plate confidence in college.
Newsom is also a quality student that was on the Honor Roll all four years and is a Tennessee Scholar. He plans on majoring in Physical Therapy. He is the son of Jim and Marty Newsom.
Wilder is a pitcher that played all four years at Dyersburg and started his junior and senior seasons. Wilder was the JV MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and earned the Pitching Award. He also earned the Varsity Pitching Award and MVP. He was All-District, All-District Tournament Team and an All-West Tennessee All-Star. This past season Wilder was 9-2 with a 1.92 ERA. He was being sought after by UT-Martin, Union University, Freed-Hardeman University and Columbia State College. He wants to work on his temper and his batting while at Bethel.
Wilder excels in the classroom being on the Honor Roll all fours year at Dyersburg. He plans on majoring in Biology at Bethel. He is the son of Steve and Jackie Wilder.
