MCKENZIE, Tenn. (06.25.09) - The Bethel College Lady Wildcat Basketball Camp ended after four days of drills, instruction and a little fun. Young ladies from third to eighth grade received individual instruction from Lady Wildcats Head Coach Chris Nelson, assistant coaches and several current players. The camp was split into two different sessions with third - fifth grades in the morning and sixth - eight grades in the afternoon. A total of 53 young ladies took part in the camp.
Campers received individual attention, gained overall knowledge of the game, and learned take-home techniques for future improvement. There were opportunities to participate in competitions as well as interact with the Lady Wildcat players.
Every participant received a camp t-shirt, a camp basketball and individual feedback from each coach. There were also awards given in various categories.
At the end of the camp, several awards were given to each group. Those receiving awards in the third - fifth grade group were: Free Throw, First Place - Riley Jo Tate; Hot Shot, First Place- Bailey Nelson; Obstacle Course - Carrisa Britt; 1 on 1 - Riley Jo Tate; Camper of the Week - Chloe Moore.

Award winners in the sixth - eighth grade group were: Free Throw - Katelyn Riley; Hot Shot - Kati Ferrell; 3 on 3 - Holley Gurley, Jalexis Haynes and Katelyn Riley; Camper of the Week - Carrie Hatchel.

The Lady Wildcats play in the NAIA and the TranSouth Conference. They will open their season at home on Monday, November 2, 2009 against McKendree University (Ill.) in McKenzie with tip-off at 6:00pm.
