BATESVILLE, AR –The Bethel Lady Wildcats scored a season high three goals and beat Lyon College 3-0 in Batesville, Arkansas Saturday afternoon extending their season opening winning streak to six in a row. It is the best start in program history.

Bethel's defense remained stout with their fourth shutout of the season. Bethel outshot Lyon 15-6 overall and had a 7-4 advantage on shots on goal.

Janine Harris scored two goals for Bethel. Maggie Smith had the other score for the Lady Wildcats. Melinda Sopka and Cara Cook had assists for the Lady Cats.   

While Bethel remained unbeaten the Lady Scots remained winless falling to 0-3-1 on the year.

Bethel's game against   No 23 Tennessee Wesleyan scheduled for Tuesday has been cancelled.
