MCKENZIE, Tenn. (07.07.09) - Bethel's baseball program continues to add to the 2009-10 recruiting class with the signings of Christian Hooton and Jordan Stack. Hooton pitches, plays second base and outfield. Stack plays first base and outfield. Both players were members of the Bolivar Central High School team for four years.

Hooton was All-District his senior year when he hit .371 for the Tigers. He is also a good fielder posting a .987 fielding percentage. While at Bolivar, the Tigers were District champions for two years, Regional champions, Sectional champions and made two TSSAA State Championship appearances. Hooton thinks his speed is his greatest asset and looks to improve on his size while at Bethel.

Hooton was also being looked at by Northwest Community College but chose Bethel because a few of his high school teammates also committed to the Wildcats. He has not decided on an intended major. He is the son of Donnie and Becky Hooton.

Stack has some pop in his bat, hitting .480 with 6 home runs, 36 RBI and 23 runs scored in his senior year. For his career Stack hit .324 with 24 round trippers and 90 RBI. He was District All-Tournament for three years and was District MVP this past season. His best memory of playing for the Tigers was driving in nine runs in one ballgame as a freshman.

Stack is also an excellent student finishing fourth in his graduating class with a 99.8 average. All four years he was on the All A's Honor Roll and was a member of Beta Club.

Stack chose Bethel because of his connection with the coach. He was also being considered by Jackson State Community College. He will major in Physical Education. He is the son of Curtis Stack.
