The Bethel University Wildcats are hoping to rebound after a tough ending to the past season. The Cats started 9-0 and had five Top 25 wins, but just couldn't finish out the last two weeks of the season on a high note. Bethel has signed ten players in the latest recruiting class, with seven of those having previous college experience. A key for Bethel will be the return of Isaac Edmondson, who led the team in points and rebounds. If the junior from Dickson, Tennessee can build on his sophomore campaign he has a chance to lead the Wildcats to a deep run in March.
The underclassmen returnees are Isaac Edmondson 6'5 Junior (17.1 PPG 8.3 REB), Conner Boley 6'4 sophomore (1.2 PPG 1.0 REB), Tyrus Robinson 6'0 sophomore (3.2 PPG), Charles Cobb 6'1 sophomore (Redshirt), Cayden Edmonson 6'8 SO (2.0 PPG 2.3 REB), Landon Castelli 6'4 freshman (Redshirt), Trey Phifer 5'10 freshman (Redshirt)

The 2017-2018 non-conference may be the toughest the Wildcats have faced in quite some time. They will open the season in the CNB Classic at Pikeville University in Pikeville, Kentucky where they will face Mid-Atlantic Christian University and Ohio State University-Mansfield. Bethel will play Williams Baptist College, Crowley's Ridge College, and Fisk University at home. The Wildcats will again host the Chick Fil-A Classic where Bethel will face Missouri Valley College and Philander Smith College. The Wildcats will go on the road this year to play in the Mid-South/Southern States Challenge at Georgetown College and play Pikeville University, Georgetown College, and Campbellsville University. They will also travel to Brescia University and Freed Hardeman University. The Wildcats will play exhibition games with Delta State University, an NCAA Division II who plays out of the Gulf South Conference and Austin Peay State University a NCAA Division I opponent who plays out of the Ohio Valley Conference.
Coach Jeff Britt states that "I like the team that we have put together and we can't wait to get them on the floor and start working. If we can survive and get better in our non-conference schedule we should be able to compete with the top teams in our league."
