MCKENZIE, Tenn. (07.10.09) - The Bethel Wildcats baseball team continued to bolster their 2009-10 recruiting class with the addition of Logan Hays. Hays, a Parsons, Tenn. native, plays pitcher and second base. He is the son of Tom and Wendi Hays.

Hays was a four year starter for the Panthers. This past season he was All-District, All-Region, All-West Tennessee and All-State. Hays is a good hitter, fielder, big game player and gives innings on the mound. This past year he hit .386 with 6 home runs and 56 RBI. On the mound, he was 8-2 with a 2.05 ERA. Riverside was extremely successful this past season finishing second in the state. While playing for the Wildcats, Hays wants to improve his strength.

Hays is a good student in the classroom sporting a 3.5 GPA. He was receiving looks from UT-Martin, Jackson State Community College and Columbia State Community College. He chose Bethel because of its great academics, good baseball program, proximity to home and his desire to play for Bethel Head Coach Rusty Thompson. Hays plans on majoring in Physical Therapy.
