MCKENZIE, Tenn. (08.01.09) - Bethel Head Softball Coach Larry Geraldi adds Katie Pacifici to the 2009-10 recruiting class. Pacifici is from Cumberland Furnace, Tenn. and attended Creek Wood High School. She has 29 career home runs, four grand slams and 135 RBI and went 11-2 on the mound her senior year. She is the granddaughter of Gary and Judy Carroll.

Pacifici started all four years at Creek Wood and all three in middle school. She plays shortstop, infielder and pitcher. In 2008 and 2009 she was 11AA All-District Softball. She was 2009 District 11AA Softball MVP, 2008-2009 MTSCA All-Midstate Team Softball, 2008 TSWA 1st Team All State Softball and a member of the 2009 KY/TN All Star Team. Pacifici also excelled on the hardwood and was named 2008 Region MVP in basketball. She also received the MTSCA Softball Scholarship for 2009.

Pacifici hit .431 her senior year, blasted 10 home runs and drove in 47 RBI. In 2006 her team advanced to the state sectionals. From 2006-2009 her teams claimed the District 11AA championship. She was named "Most Athletic Female" at Creek Wood this past year.

Pacifici believes her leadership, enthusiasm and "no quit" attitude are the strengths she brings to the lady Wildcats. She hopes to excel academically while at Bethel.

Pacifici considered UT-Martin, Austin Peay, Trevecca Nazarene University and Western Kentucky. She chose Bethel because it is a small Christian school in a small town and she felt comfortable and safe on her first campus visit.

She plans on major in Physical Education.
