Offensively, Bethel was led by newcomers Adrianna Gonzalez and Thaise Vieira. Gonzalez had 47 total attacks with 13 kills and Vieira had 43 total attacks and 14 kills. Jessica Vieira posted 40 total attacks with 9 kills. Shea Sheppard had 16 total attacks with four kills. Abbey Masters and Deseray each had 13 total attacks with eight and four kills respectively. Masters also had 136 total set attempts with 35 assists. Masters and Gonzalez also had three service aces.
On the defensive side, libero Michele Cunha led the way with 27 digs. Thaise Vieira had 16 digs. Masters added 13 digs and Sheppard had 12.
Bethel jumps into conference play on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009 in Pulaski, Tenn. against Martin Methodist College at 7:00pm. They will host Mid-Continent University and Williams Baptist College on Saturday, Sept. 5, with matches at 1:00pm and 5:00pm.
