PULASKI, Tenn. (09.03.09) - The Bethel University volleyball team picked up an important win against Martin Methodist College in the opening TranSouth Conference match of the season. After Bethel and Martin split the first two games, the Lady ‘Cats took the next two for a 3-1 victory (25-20, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-18).
 

The tandem of sisters Jessica and Thaise Vieira led the offense with 13 and 12 kills respectively. Adrianna Bookout-Gonzalez added seven kills. Abbey Masters led the team with 34 set assists and with three service aces.

Michele Cunha paced the team with 20 digs, followed by Masters with 15. Deseray Washington posted three solo blocks and two block assists. Shea Sheppard added three block assists.

The Lady Wildcats are 2-0 (1-0) and will be in a double-header at home on Saturday, September 5, 2009. Beginning at 1:00pm, Bethel will entertain Mid-Continent University in the second TSAC match of the season. Then at 5:00pm they will face Williams Baptist College.
