MCKENZIE, Tenn. (09.05.09) - The Bethel University volleyball team is off to a 4-0 start with two wins at home. The first came with a dominating conference win against Mid-Continent University, 3-0 (25-13, 25-16 and 25-17). The Lady Wildcats followed that effort with win a 3-0 blanking of Williams Baptist College (25-11, 25-21 and 25-21).
 

In the match against MCU, Macy Kint led the Lady Wildcats with 12 kills. Charnae Neely followed with six kills. Shea Sheppard led with 16 set assists. Sheppard, Jessie Davis, Neely and Kint all posted two service aces.

Defensively against MCU, Lori Magnusen had 19 digs. Kint had 9 digs, Davis had six, while Sheppard and Rachel Hendricks each four. Neely and newcomer Jamie Morris had 2 solo blocks for Bethel.

Bethel's Thaise Vieira led the way offensively against WBC with 14 kills and posted one service ace. Adrianna Bookout-Gonzalez had nine kills, Deseray Washington followed with eight and Jessica Vieira had four. Abbey Masters had 37 set assists and led the team with eight service aces.

Magnusen led with 16 digs and Masters had 10. Sheppard and T. Vieira each had seven digs. J. Vieira and T. Vieira had one solo block each. T. Vieira added four block assists.

The Lady Wildcats will host #RV Freed-Hardeman University in the Dishman Gymnasium on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 7:00pm. FHU lost their lone match of the season 0-3 to Christian Brothers University.
