HENDERSON, Tenn. (09.19.09) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats dominated their game with the hosting Lady Lions of Freed-Hardeman in route to a 3-0 win. It was the first win on the young season for the Lady ‘Cats and was important because it was also a TranSouth Conference match.
Bethel kept constant offensive pressure on Freed out shooting the Lady Lions 21-2. Bethel took 13 shots in the first half and Karrisa Ware put the Lady Wildcats in front 1-0 in the 36th minute. Candice Solcido scored 7 minutes later with an assist from Vitoriah Musoyki. It was Solcido's fourth goal of the season.
Freed made some adjustments in the second half but Bethel still outshot the Lady Lions 8-2. The Lady Wildcats final goal came in the 83rd minute when Carla Chambers scored with an assist from Toni Barraco.
Goalkeeper Tashana Taylor stopped both shots she faced for the shutout win.
Bethel improves to 1-3-1 on the season. They will continue conference play on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 2:00pm when play at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn.
