MCKENZIE, Tenn. (10.03.09) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats continue to improve on their record start with a 3-1 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan (NCAA D-II). The 15-2 (6-2) start to the season is the best in the programs history. The Lady ‘Cats dominated the match except for the game they lost, 25-10, 27-29, 25-11 and 25-10.
 

After a conference match the night before, there could have been some fatigue or a letdown, but Bethel came out strong in the win. Every Lady Wildcat saw action in the match.

Thaise Vieira was the offensive leader with 13 kills on 16 attacks, a service ace and had two block assists. Jessica Vieira had eight kills on 11 attacks and two block assists. Andressa Dasilva posted 7 kills on 13 attacks. Abbey Masters had five fills on 13 attacks, 34 set assists, two service aces and 14 digs. Adrianna Bookout-Gonzalez also had five kills on 11 attacks, three service aces, four digs and on block assist. Shea Sheppard had four kills on 11 attacks, seven set assists, seven digs and two block assists. Deseray Washington added four kills on five attacks, one set assist and one dig. Michele Cunha had 20 digs to lead the Lady Wildcats. Lori Magnusen and Macy Kint had 10 digs each.

Bethel will be hosting Union University on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 7:00pm. Bethel lost 2-3 at Union on September 15th after leading 2-0.
