MCKENZIE, Tenn. (10.09.09) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats survived a barrage of shots from the sixth ranked Lady RedHawks of Martin Methodist College and terrible field conditions to come away with a 0-0 2OT tie. It was the first time the Lady ‘Cats had not lost and shut out the lady RedHawks in their last eight meetings.

Martin held a huge advantage in shots for the match, 24-10, but Bethel's goalkeeper Jackie Gardner was up to the task making several game saving stops. It was a very physical match-up with three yellow cards being issued.

Martin's Camilla Hovden had an excellent opportunity in regulation to take the lead in the 88th minute, but Gardner laid out for a great save. Bethel also had an opportunity to end the game in the first overtime as Maryse Beauregard had a shot within fifteen feet, but the shot sailed high.

The Lady Wildcats are 3-3-2 (2-0-1) on the season. Bethel will host the Pipers of Lyon College (Ark.) on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 1:00pm in a TranSouth Conference match. Lyon is 6-1-1 (1-1-1) on the season.
