Bethel got on the scoreboard early when Kelly-Jade Whelen scored in the 5th minute with an assist by Rachel Rathbone. But, Shorter answered two minutes later in the 7th minute when Candace Edwards scored with an assist from Pauline Van Der Henst. The Lady Hawks would take a 2-1 lead in the 18th minute as Ver Der Henst scored unassisted. But, back came the Lady Wildcats on Tori Barraco's goal in the 32nd minute to tie the score 2-2. Barraco was assisted by Morgan Keitel.
The second half was very physical with Bethel receiving two yellow cards. Tough play continued into the overtime with Shorter being shown a yellow card. But, neither team could find the net and after 110:00, the teams ended deadlocked.
Bethel is 3-4-4 (2-1-2) on the season. They will be on the road on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in Searcy, Ark. to play Harding University at 7:00pm.
