MCKENZIE, Tenn. (10.22.09) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats continued their record breaking season with a 3-0 win on the road over Kentucky Wesleyan University and a 3-0 win at home over Martin Methodist College. The two wins give the Lady ‘Cats 19 on the year, the most in program history.
 

In the 3-0 win over Kentucky Wesleyan, the Lady Wildcats took the first two games 25-19 and 25-21. But, KWU challenged Bethel in the third frame as the Lady ‘Cats took the match 28-26. Jessica Vieira led the offense with 13 kills on 27 attempts. J. Vieira added one set assist, two digs, one solo block and one block assist. Adrianna Bookout-Gonzalez had 10 kills on 23 attempts and two digs. Thaise Vieira had 9 kills on just 17 attempts, one service ace, 16 digs, one solo block and one block assist. Abbey Masters led the team with 36 assists and added two kills on six attempts, 12 digs and one block assist. Deseray Washington posted six kills on 16 attempts and one block assist. Shea Sheppard led the Lady ‘Cats with three service aces to go with four kills on 10 attempts, one dig, one solo block and one block assist.

In their match against Martin Methodist, all the games were close and each hotly contested. But, Bethel completed the three game sweep with scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-19. T. Vieira led the offense with 16 kills on 34 attempts. She added a service ace, four digs and four block assists. Gonzalez had 12 kills on 20 attacks, one dig and one block assist. Masters led the team again with 36 set assists, had three kills on 11 attacks, one service ace, 11 digs and three block assists. Michele Cunha led the team with 26 digs, had one kill and one service ace. J. Vieira and Washington each had five kills. Sheppard had three kills.

The Lady Wildcats are 19-3 (9-3) on the season. They will play a very important conference match in Nashville, Tenn. on Tuesday, October 27 at 7:00pm against the Lady Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene University.
