The 2007-2008 Bethel Wildcats opened their season with a tough home win.

Bethel jumped out to an early lead only to see Reinhardt close it and keep it that way. The game was back and forth with both teams fighting to stay on top. The Wildcats ended the half on a cold note only shooting 32% from the field, going to the locker room down 27-24.

Reinhardt came out in the second half and built on the small lead, reaching 9 with 10 min. to play. Bethel clawed their way  back in the game with key offensive rebounds. With 3 seconds left in the game Derek Demaree put back a Leroy Bell miss for the lead and with a Leon Sewell free throw the Wildcats escaped with a 59-57 victory.

Derek Demaree led the Britt's Wildcats with 16pts and 11rebounds. Akinfolarin Sessi chipped in with 8pts and 5 rebounds off the bench.

Bethel will take on Union College (KY) on Saturday at 6pm.
