JACKSON, Tenn. (10.29.09) - The nation's number one ranked Bethel men's soccer team remains unbeaten in the their last 28 games dating back to last season with a 3-0 win over the Bulldogs of Union University. Bethel dominated the action shooting 24 times while allowing Union only three shots in the match.
 

A game delayed by weather several times final took place and the weather was still a factor as they game was played on the Union practice field because the game field was unplayable.

Mario Vila Boa got the Wildcats on the board with a goal in the 31st minute. In a physical first half, the Wildcats took seven shots while Union took just two.

But, the ‘Cats picked up the offense in the second half taking 17 shots while allowing only one. Just 11 seconds in the second, Armando Orozco took a pass from Vila Boa and Bethel took a 2-0 lead. Orozco wasn't finished as he scored another in the 85th minute unassisted.

Massimo Collu-Marchese picked up the win in goal. It was his 6th shutout of the season.

The Wildcats are 11-0-3 (4-0-2) on the season. They will finish the TranSouth regular season on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in Lebanon, Tenn. against the Cumberland University Bulldogs. With a win in Lebanon, the Wildcats would claim the regular season conference title.
