LEBANON, Tenn. (10.31.09) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats soccer team closed out their TranSouth conference regular season schedule with an 8-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs of Cumberland University. After a 1-1 tie in the first half, Bethel scored seven unanswered goals in 26 minutes for the victory.
 

Maryse Beauregard scored in the 10th minute of the first half to give the Lady ‘Cats a 1-0 lead, but Cumberland's Helena Diman Farias scored in the 37th minute for knot the score 1-1. Bethel outshot Cumberland 17-5 in the first frame.

In the second half, the Lady Wildcats really turned up the offensive pressure taking 26 shots to Cumberland's four. For the game, Bethel shot 43 times and Cumberland was only able to get nine shots off. The offensive barrage began in the 61th minute with Beauregard scoring her second goal with an assist from Tori Barraco. Five minutes later in the 66th minute Beauregard completed the hat trick with an assist from Victoriah Musyoski and Bethel led 3-1. The offense kept coming, when three minutes later in the 69th minute, Musyoski headed in a goal with an assist from Rachel Rathbone. The Lady Wildcats wasted no time and again three minutes later Tori Borraco scored in the 72nd minute with help from Kelly-Jade Whelen. Bethel only needed 41 seconds to net their next score as Marika Fukuta got the tally with an assist from Morgan Kietel. In the 84th minute Rathbone found the net with an assist from Bianca Schreiber. Kelly-Jade Whelen would finish the scoring in the 87th minute.

With the win, the Lady Wildcats improve to 4-4-5 (3-1-2) on the season. They will play their final game of the regular season on the road in Lindenwood, Mo. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 6:00pm to play Lindenwood University.
