Jeff Britt's Bethel Wildcats start the season 2-0 with a big home win against Union College.
Bethel came out of the gates running with a quick double digit lead. Led by Brian French and his 11first half points the Wildcats hoped for a big halftime lead. The lead would be short lived as Union battled back and hit 3 free throws to take a 32-31 to the locker room.

Bethel jumped out to a 12pt lead in the second half and would not let up. Union stayed in striking distance by cutting the lead to 4 with under 20 seconds to go, but key free throws by Senior Clint Blackburn sealed the victory for the Wildcats.

" I think we came out with a great deal of intensity in the second half" stated Britt after the game. Brian French led the way for the Wildcats with 18pts and 4 rebounds. Senior Hrvoje Devcic and Leon Sewell both chipped in with 12 and 11 points each.

The Wildcats will travel to Jackson, TN next weekend for the Comfort Inn Classic at Lambuth University. Bethel will face Bluefield College on Friday and Covenant College on Saturday.
