Bethel adds Benjamin Scott Malin to the Cross Country team for the 2010-11 season.
MCKENZIE, Tenn. (01.09.10) - Bethel Cross Country Head Coach
Brandon Kilburn announced the signing of Benjamin Scott Malin to the 2010
class. Malin has run track for three years and cross country for two years at
Big Sandy High School. He is the son of
Glenn and Debbie Malin.
Malin and Big Sandy were regional runner-up and went to the
TSSAA Sate Championships in 2008 and 2009.
Individually Malin was regional runner-up in 2008 and 2009 and placed 10th
at State in 2008 and 15th in 2009.
His personal record is a 17:35 and averaged 18:35 his senior year. He was named Most Improved Cross Country in
2008 and a Scholar Athlete in 2009.
"Ben is a great addition to our cross country team. He is a hard worker and has an excellent
attitude," said Coach Kilburn. "I'm very
excited about him coming to Bethel and expect him to achieve great things."
Malin is also good student and has been active in school
activities. He was a member of Beta
Club, Student Council, HOSA, FCA, Beta Club Secretary, Palimentarian Advanced
American History and Sentinel HOSA.
Malin was also being sought after by Lincoln Memorial
University and UT-Martin.
While at Bethel Malin plans
on majoring in Biology/Pre-Med.
