MCKENZIE, Tenn. (01.23.10) - The #RV Lyon College Pipers have traditionally been a tough opponent for the #19 Bethel University Lady Wildcats and their TranSouth Conference match-up proved to be no different as the Pipers came away from Dishman Gymnasium with a 75-70 OT win. The difference was Lyon's advantage on the boards and in the paint.

In the first half, Bethel was able to take six more shots than Lyon, but Lyon hit 63% to Bethel's 40%. Keshianna "K.K." Hodges did the most damage on the inside with Lyon outscoring Bethel 24-12. But just as effective was the work of Nina Djokovic inside with 16 points in the first half. Anna Trull added eight points with a couple of three pointers. Bethel trailed 36-33 at the half.

Bethel was able to correct some things during the break as they hit 41% of their shots to Lyon's 44%. The rebounds also evened and the Lady Wildcats held the advantage on turnovers. Bethel was in a position to take a one point lead but Kashundria Berry only converted one of her two free throws. Lyon had a chance to win the game, but Syeeda Echols' shot rolled off the rim as regulation expired with the teams knotted up at 64-64.

After Bethel took a two point lead on Teena Carter's basket, Lyon was able to take the lead in the overtime and converted free throws to seal the upset.
