MCKENZIE, Tenn. (01.23.10) - The Wildcats got off to a quick start and never trailed in the TranSouth Conference match-up against the Scots of Lyon College, winning 69-55. It was a balanced attack for Bethel as four players scored in double figures.
 

Bethel took a 13 point lead in the first after going on a 9-0 run. The run was highlighted by Eddie King's slam and alley-opp. Bethel outshot Lyon 52% to 32% in the first half. But, Lyon was able to keep the score close as Bethel took a six point, 33-27 lead at the break. Eddie King led the way with 11 points in the first; Dustin Ferguson added seven.

Andre Crudup exploded in the second half with 16 points and Marcus McElrath added eight. Bethel opened their largest lead of the game with Crudup's bucket with 9:07 left. The ‘Cats turned the ball over 11 times, but cause the Scots to turn it over 18 times on the second.

Crudup led with 19 points; he had two rebounds, three assists and four steals. King had 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal. Ferguson had 10 points. McElrath also had 10 points with six rebounds, one assist and three steals.

Bethel evens their record to 10-10 on the season and is 2-4 in the TranSouth Conference. They return to action in Pulaski, Tenn. to play the RedHawks of Martin Methodist College. Tip-off is set for 8:00pm and the game can be heard live on 100.9 FM The Farm and on-line at www.bethelathletics.com.
