MCKENZIE, Tenn. (02.04.10) - The anticipation for the rematch of Bethel and Union was high as the Lady Wildcats lost in the previous meeting on the road by just two points. With the Dishman Gymnasium filled to the brim on "Pink Out" night, the #21 Lady ‘Cats fell 85-70 to #1 Union.

About midway through the first half, Union went on a 16-4 run to open an 11-point, 32-21 advantage. That seemed to be the turning point as Bethel never regained the lead the rest of the night. Stats in the first half were fairly even with Bethel shooting 48% from the field to Union's 50%. Union did get seven more shots in the half. Lavanda Ross was doing the damage for Union with 15 point in the first frame. But, Kashundria Berry did her best to match the effort with 16 points of her own.

Bethel shot better (50% to 48%) and took more shots (30 to 27) but was unable to get to the free throw line as Union went 14 times to Bethel's three. Trips to the charity stripe proved to be the difference as Union his 12 of their 14 chances. Bethel got to within six points as the second half began. After going scoreless in the first, Union's Kaitlin Dudley proved to be a thorn in Bethel's side yet again scoring 11 of her 13 points in just a 2:30 minute span that gave Union a double digit lead. Union's 11-0 run proved to be too much for the Lady ‘Cats to overcome.

Berry scored 26 points to set a career high. Nina Djokovic added 16 points and 12 rebounds. Teena Carter had eight points. Kelsey Hamilton and Joanna Ortiz each had 6.

Bethel is 13-9 (4-5) on the season. They will be on the road Thursday, February 11, 2009 in Nashville, Tenn. to play #12 Trevecca Nazarene University; game time is set for 6:00pm.
