MCKENZIE, Tenn. (02.04.10) - The Bethel Wildcats never got on track in a 92-55 loss to the Bulldogs of Union University. Bethel as a team shot 26% while Union hit 57% from the field.
Bethel tied the score 2-2 but that would be the last time that the Wildcats were within striking distance. Union's 9-0 run in the middle of the first half gave them a 31-14 lead. Union would maintain that double digit advantage for the rest of the game. Bethel's Donald "Trey" Harris led the offense in the first half with six points. Eddie King added five in the first frame.
Bethel shot just 24% in the second half and Andre Crudup's 10 points led the Wildcats. But nothing seemed to slow Union down as they hit a blistering 65% from the field. Late in the game, Union opened their largest lead 89-47 with just over two minutes to play. Crudup scored the game's final four points to cut the lead under 40 points.
Crudup scored 13 points to lead Bethel. Alex Emelyanov scored 8 points and Eddie King added seven. As a team, Bethel was out rebounded 45-36.
Bethel falls to 10-13 (2-7) on the season. The Wildcats will be on the road Thursday, February 11, 2009 in Nashville, Tenn. to play #RV Trevecca Nazarene University; game time is set for 8:00pm.
