NASHVILLE, Tenn. (02.11.10) - The Moore gymnasium on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University is always a tough place to play. It proved tough again as Bethel turned the ball over 21 times in a 93-78 loss to the host Trojans. TNU jumped out to an early lead and pulled away late in the game. Trevecca has won the last 17 meetings in the series with Bethel and holds a 46-30 advantage in the all-time series.
The Trojans scored the first eight points of the game, and led 18-7, but Bethel would work its way back to within 22-21 with 4:29 left in the half. The Trojans scored eight straight points and 15 of the final 21 points of the half to take a 37-27 lead into the locker room. The Trojans maintained a comfortable cushion for much of the second half, shooting nearly 63% from the field after the break.
Bethel shot the ball well when they did get shots (48%) for the game. Andre Crudup led all scorers with 27 points; he had four rebounds and four assists. Gavin McDaniel had 11 points and three rebounds. Donald "Trey" Harris had nine points, eight rebounds, three assists to go with eight turnovers.
