MCKENZIE, Tenn. (02.15.10) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats dominated in almost every single offensive and defensive category in the 86-55 victory over the visiting Lady Cougars of Mid-Continent University. Nine different Lady Wildcats tallied points in the win.
 

Bethel scored the game's first eight points and led by 18 points twice enroute to a 39-25 halftime lead. They opened the second half with a 13-4 run, building its lead to 52-29 with 15 minutes left. After MCU sliced the lead down to 15 points, 55-40, with 12:25 left in the game, the Lady Wildcats went on a 25-8 tear and led 80-48 with 4:20 left, its biggest advantage of the game.

Bethel out-rebounded MCU, 42-29, and stole the ball 19 times. The Wildcats shot .451 from the field (32-71), made 7 of 25 three-pointers and 15 of 18 free throws and committed 20 turnovers.

Nina Djokovic led all scorers and rebounds with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 steals, and hit 9 of her 11 free throw attempts. It was Djokovic's 15th double-double of the year. Anna Trull finished with 16 points, 11 in the first half, and made 3 three-pointers and stole the ball twice. Kelsey Hamilton added 11 points, 3 three-pointers and 4 rebounds. Joanna Ortiz added 9 points; Jenna Roney contributed 8 points and 7 rebounds; and Kashundria Berry totaled 9 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Teena Carter finished with 8 points and 5 rebounds.

Bethel is 16-9 (7-5) and ranked #22 in the latest NAIA poll. The Lady ‘Cats will be on the road Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Lebanon, Tenn. to play the Lady Bulldogs of Cumberland University with tip-off at 6:00pm.
