MCKENZIE, Tenn. (02.26.10) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats shot a blistering 70% from the field in the second half in their TranSouth Conference 85-63 win over the Lady RedHawks of Martin Methodist College. The win keeps Bethel in a position for their highest regular season conference finish.

The first half would prove to be the complete opposite of the second half for the Lady Wildcats as they shot 39% (13 of 33) in the first frame. Bethel started out scoring the first eight points of the contest to take an 8-0 lead. Two early fouls limited Nina Djokovic's time on the court, but Kashundria Berry picked up the slack scoring seven. The eight point advantage was the largest lead that Bethel would achieve in the first as MMC kept the score close. Bethel took a six point, 29-23 advantage to the locker room as they took 11 more shots than the Lady RedHawks.

Bethel went on a 15-7 scoring run taking a 16 point lead on Berry's free throw at 14:05. Bethel continued to shoot well taking a 20-point lead on Anna Trull's freebie at 9:09. From that point, MMC would only get as close as 14 points. The Lady Wildcats shot 19 of 27 from the floor, 4 of 6 from behind the arc and 14 of 16 from the line in the second half. Djokovic scored 15, Berry 11 and Trull 10 in the half to pace the Lady Wildcats. Bethel also did a better job of not turning the ball over in the second.

Djokovic led the Lady Wildcats with 23 points; she had three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Berry ended up with 18 points, two rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Trstian Johnson had 11 points and one assist. Trull had 10 points, one assist and three steals. Jovana Petrovic had six points and Joanna Ortiz had five points. The Lady Wildcats are 19-9 (10-5) on the year. The win places Bethel in a tie for third place in the TranSouth Conference with Trevecca Nazarene.
