MEMPHIS, Tenn. (03.06.10) - Bethel trailed after the third inning but scored late to pull out their second win in two days over Christian Brothers University 9-6. The Wildcats and the Bucs played a two-game home and home series with Bethel outscoring CBU 19-6.

Bethel starting pitching Jordan Smith was roughed up going 2.1 innings allowing five runs on six hits. He walked two and struck out one. Jon Patterson came on in relief pitching 4.2 innings allowing only two hits and striking out two to pick up the win. Jacob Hatchel threw one inning allowing two hits and one run with two walks and a strike out. Derek Hinson pitched a perfect ninth inning.

Bethel got on the board first with a run in the first. With one out, Craig Massey walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on Jake Ramsey's two out single for a 1-0 lead.

The Bucs scored one in the bottom of the second and four in the bottom of the third to put Bethel behind 5-1.

Bethel added a run in the fourth on Hunter Deberry's RBI single scoring Billy Keck. Then the ‘Cats tacked on another run in the fifth on Courtney Hardaway's RBI single scoring Johnathan Deberry.

Bethel cut the lead by two more runs in the seventh. Massey walked, J. Deberry reached on a bunt single; runners moved to second and third on an error. Ramsey made the Bucs' mistake count delivering a two RBI single as Bethel tied the score 5-5.

Then Bethel took the lead for good in the eighth. Zach Tippitt led off with a single, H. Deberry reached on a squeeze bunt. Jay Lowery hit a sacrifice fly that scored Tippitt from third. H Deberry scored on an errant throw. Massey and J. Deberry hit consecutive singles, Ramsey delivered his second two RBI hit to give Bethel an 9-5 lead. The Bucs would plate one run in the bottom half of the inning.

The Wildcats are 9-0-1 on the year. Bethel will be on the road for Spring Break. On Monday, March 8, 2010 the Wildcats will in Marietta, Ga. to play #4 Southern Polytechnic State University for a double header starting at 12:00pm. Then the ‘Cats will be in Clearwater, Fla. On March, 10, 2010 they Wildcats will play Hannibal-LaGrange College at 9:00am and Northwestern College at 12:00pm. On March 11, 2010 the Wildcats will play Hannibal LaGrange College at 9:00am and Purdue University - North Central at 12:00pm. The Florida trip will conclude with a game against #21 Madonna University on March 12, 2010 at 10:30am.
