MCKENZIE, Tenn. (03.26.10) - The Lady Wildcats' comeback bid in game one came up short against the Lady Trojans in game one of their double header falling 9-7 and then the Lady ‘Cats dropped the second game of the double header 8-2.
 

Game One

The pitching tandem of Amber Metzger and Ashton Carnahan were touched up for 18 hits and nine runs. Metzger went 3.1 innings allowing four runs on ten hits, walked none and struck out four. Carnahan went the remaining 3.2 innings allowing five runs on eight hits and she walked two.

Bethel found themselves down 8-0 after the Lady Trojans plated seven runs in the fourth inning and one in the fifth. But, Bethel made it a game with a seven run fifth inning.

Kati Pacifici singled to lead off the inning; Amanda Renfroe doubled to left; Shelby Cummings walked to load the bases; with one out Brooke Cary lined a two RBI single to left; Morgan Berry walked to again load the bases; Ashley Simmons reached on an error as Lindsey Davis scored; Brittany Edmonds hit a two RBI double to right; and Pacific doubled to score Simons and Edmonds to make the score TUN 8-7.

The Lady Trojans would score one more in the top of the sixth and the Lady ‘Cats were unable to score in the final two innings.

Game Two

The story for game two was the Lady Trojans offense that scored eight runs on 15 hits. Leah Hensley went all seven innings striking out five and walked two.

The Bethel offense was limited to five hits, scoring two runs. Down 2-0, the Lady Wildcats scored two to tie in the fourth. Edmonds led off with a single; that was followed by a two run homer by Renfroe.

TNU responded with three runs in the fifth and the sixth innings to claim the win.

Bethel is now 8-11 (2-8) on the season. They will host Cumberland University on Tuesday, March 29, 2010 for a double header that starts at 2:00pm.
