Game One
The Lady Cougars plated an unearned run in the top of second and made it stick in the 1-0 win. Bethel starting pitcher Leah Hensley went all seven innings allowing six hits and an unearned run. She walked one and struck out four.
The Bethel offense was only able to muster four hits, two were doubles but the Lady ‘Cats were not able to get the runners home. Lindsey Davis was 1 fo3 with a double. Brittany Edmonds was 1 for 3 with a double. Amanda Renfroe was 1 for 3 and Ashton Carnahan was 1 for 1.
Game Two
Carnahan went 7.0 innings getting the win; she scattered five hits and allowed two runs, one earned, walking one and striking out one.
Bethel's offense got a shot in the arm in the second inning, scoring four times. Renfroe led off the inning with a homer and the team seemed to feed off that. Brooke Cary delivered a two RBI single and then scored on an error and Bethel took a 4-0 lead.
Bethel scored two more in the third. Ashley Simmons slid head first as she tripled to right field as Roper scored and then was able to score on a passed ball.
Up 6-2, Bethel tacked on another run in the fifth as Katie Pacifici lined a RBI single scoring Renfroe.
In the sixth, Bethel scored two more. After Shelby Cummings doubled and moved to third on a passed ball, Amber Metzger drove her in with a single to right. Cary scored on an error to end the scoring for Bethel.
Bethel is 11-14 (2-6) on the season. They will be on the road to play Fisk University on Monday, April 5, 2010. The Lady Wildcats will be at home on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 to play Louisiana State University at Alexandria starting at 2:00pm.
