NASHVILLE, Tenn. (04.05.10) - The Bethel Lady Wildcats took their double header with the Lady Bulldogs of Fisk University for the second time in six days. Bethel defeated Fisk 20-0 and 16-0 to sweep the home and home series.
Game One
Bethel scored 13 runs in the first inning and cruised to the win. Amber Metzger got the win on the mound. Bethel had 16 hits.
Shelby Cummings was a perfect 3 for 3 with 5 RBI. Kasey Winsett was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI. Jennifer Townson was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI. Megan Hinds was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI. Katie Pacifici was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Ashton Carnahan went 3 for 3 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored.
Game Two
The Lady Wildcats offense was slow to heat up in game two as they scored one run in innings one and two. They got going plating three runs in the third and fourth and seven in the fifth. Katie Ervin went the distance on the mound allowing just two hits in the shutout.
At the plate Lindsey Davis was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI. Ashley Simmons was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Amanda Renfroe was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI. Morgan Berry went 1 for 4 with 2 RBI. Leah Hensley was 1 for 3 with 1 RBI. Colby Prosser was 1 for 4 with 1 RBI.
Bethel improves to 13-14 (2-6) on the season. They return home to host Louisiana State University at Alexandria for a double header on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 starting at 2:00pm.
