WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (04.15.10) - The Lady Wildcats started a long road trip with a pair of losses to Williams Baptist College. Bethel lost game one of the double header 6-1 and 2-0 in the second.
 

Game One

Bethel scored the first run of the game and took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. WBC scored three in the bottom of the first, two in the fourth and one in the fifth. Bethel pitcher Ashton Carnahan gave up 13 hits, she walked one and struck one in the loss.

The Lady ‘Cats offense managed just three hits in the contest with Carnahan, Jennifer Townson and Shelby Cummings getting a hit each.

Game Two

Williams Baptist scored two runs in the second inning and made it stick against Bethel starting pitcher Leah Hensley. Hensley went the distance taking the loss as she gave up two runs on seven hits, she walked two and struck out two.

Again the Lady Wildcats offense was limited as they recorded just four hits. Brooke Cary had two hits, Cummings and Brittany Edmonds each had one.

Bethel is 17-20 (3-7) on the season. On Friday, April 16, 2010 the Lady ‘Cats will be in Batesville, Ark. to play a twinbill against Lyon College starting at 2:00pm. On Saturday, they will stop and play Central Baptist College for a double header starting at 12:00pm. On Monday, Bethel will finish conference play when they go to Pulaski, Tenn. to play Martin Methodist College with game time starting at 3:00pm.
