Game One
Bethel trailed 1-0 after the first inning, tied the game up 1-1 in the top of the fourth, but Lyon scored two in the bottom half to take a 3-1 lead. The Lady Wildcats scored two more to tie in the fifth inning but the pipers scored two more in the sixth for the win.
Leah Hensley hurled a complete game allowing five runs, four earned on six hits, five walks and she struck out one.
Ashley Simmons was 2 for 3 with a run scored. Shelby Cummings was 1 for 3 with a RBI and a run scored. Brooke Cary was 1 for 3 with a RBI and a run scored. Amanda Renfroe was 1 for 3.
Game Two
The Lady Wildcats pounded out 16 hits in the win. Katie Pacifici homered and Renfroe dialed long distance twice. Bethel trailed 5-2 after two innings, but outscored the Pipers 10-2 over the next five innings.
Ashton Carnahan went 4.2 innings picking up the win. She allowed seven runs, six earned on six hits and walked six. Hensley came in relief for 2.1 innings walking one and striking out one.
Renfroe was 2 for 3 with two homers, three RBI, two walks and three runs scored. Cummings was 3 for 5 with two runs scored. Pacifici was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI and two runs scored. Cary was 2 for 4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Lindsey Davis was 1 for 5 with two RBI. Brittany Edmonds was 2 for 4 with a run scored. Jennifer Townson was 2 for 4 with one run scored. Simmons was 1 for 4 with a run scored.
Bethel is 18-21 (4-8) on the season. They will be playing Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Central Baptist College with first pitch at 12:00pm. The Lady ‘Cats will be back on the road Monday, April 19, 2010 to play Martin Methodist College with the double header starting at 3:00pm.
