Game One
Bethel was only able to muster three hits in the shutout loss while MMC scored eight times on six hits.
Bethel starting pitcher Leah Hensley went 3.1 innings allowing eight runs, seven earned on five hits; she walked three and struck out one. Katie Ervin threw 0.2 inning in relief walking two and striking out one.
Shelby Cummings, Ashley Simmons and Brooke Cary each accounted for Bethel's three hits.
Game Two
Bethel jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the top of the first inning, but Martin responded with a run in the bottom of the first then five runs in the second and the third inning.
Ashton Carnahan started and went 2.2 innings allowing 11 runs, 9 earned on 10 hits; she walked two. Ervin again come on in relief throwing 1.1 innings giving up three hits; she walked one and struck out one.
In the top of the first, Lindsey Davis walked and scored on Amanda Renfroe's single to left. Renfroe advanced on a wild throw to third and scored on a fielder's choice.
Again the Lady ‘Cats offense was limited to three hits in the game. Renfroe was 1 for 2 with a run scored and a RBI. Jennifer Townson was 2 for 2.
The Lady ‘Cats fall to 19-24 (4-10) on the season. They will be in Jackson, Tenn. on Tuesday, April 21, 2010 to play Lambuth University beginning at 2:00pm. They will play their last regular season game on Saturday, April 24, 2010 as they host Belhaven University with game time at 12:00pm. Prior to that game, it will be senior day as Amber Metzger and Ashley Simmons will be recognized.
