McKenzie, TN - Bethel University basketball coach, Jeff Britt, has announced the signing of Freeman Pinkney, a transfer from Martin Methodist College.

Pinkney is a 5'10, 165 pound point guard originally from Clarksville, Tennessee who played his high school basketball at Kenwood High School.  At Kenwood, Freeman averaged 17 points and 5 assists his senior season, which earned him All Area, All District honors, and District Tournament MVP.

Pinkney then went on to continue his basketball career at Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee. While at Walters State, Freeman averaged 6 points and 3 assists over his two years there and shot 36% from behind the 3 point line. During his time at Walters, Pinkney was name Defensive player of the year.

Freeman then played a year at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee. While at Martin, Pinkney averaged 3 points and 2 assists in 12 minutes of play a game. 

"We are happy to have Freeman as a part of our team," Britt said. "He has played in the TranSouth before and having his knowledge of the game and Leadership on the floor will help lead this team to where it needs to be."
