PARIS, Tenn. (05.26.10) - The Bethel Wildcats football team has added Skylar Haley to the 2010 recruiting class. Haley was a three sport star at Henry County High School playing football, basketball and baseball all four years.

On the gridiron, Haley was selected All-Region 7-4A Honorable Mention his sophomore year. In his junior year, he was selected First Team All-Region 7-4A and was a Honorable Mention All-West Tennessee. He was selected as one of The Tennessean's "Top Players to Watch List", All-District Team, District Defensive Back of the Year, Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Team, Second Team All-Midstate and Second Team All-West Tennessee his senior season. He also broke Henry County's record for touchdown receptions.

While playing basketball, Haley was MVP, All-District Tournament Team as a freshman. He earned Best Defensive Award, had the most steals and bet free throw percentage his junior year.

Haley also was an accomplished baseball player at shortstop. In his sophomore year he awarded the Infield Golden Glove Award. His senior year he made the Clarksville Orioles as a shortstop, catcher and pitcher. He has also played travel baseball for the last four years for the Tennessee Thunder, Tennessee Warriors, the Tennessee Coyotes and the Ken-Tenn Express.

Haley is an excellent and active student graduating with a 4.0 GPA. He has been a Tennessee Scholar for three years and a member of the National Honor Society for two years. He has been an Effort Scholar all four years at HCHS. He has been involved in Beta Club, Student Council, Leo Club, Interact Club, Spanish Club, History Club, HOSA, AMAD, PCS, DECA and Stock Market.

Haley was inducted into the Paris/Henry County Sports Hall of Fame in his freshman year. He served as president of AMAD (Athletes Making a Difference) his sophomore, junior and senior years. His sophomore year AMAD collected 100 bags of dog food, cat food, collars and other items and gave them to the Humane Society. In 11th grade, AMAD collected over 1,000 can goods and gave them to the Henry County Food Bank. During his senior year, AMAD worked with the Department of Children's Services to deliver presents and stockings at Christmas to 20 foster children.

Haley has also volunteered for more than 122 hours while in high school.
