MCKENZIE, Tenn. (06.04.10) - Coach Clay Boyd signed another standout bowler from the Volunteer state. Columbia Central's Chelsea Barton will join the Lady Wildcat squad this fall.

Barton is the daughter of Karen Pavy and Brad Barton of Columbia, TN. She has been bowling since grade school and holds the record at Central for the highest amount of pins knocked down by a female bowler. She qualified for the singles tournament three years and was first team all-state her junior year. She also had the highest average in district play her senior year. Her average was 288. Her squad was District and Region champs all four years while she attended Central.

Barton was a member of the honor roll and a member of HOSA and JROTC.

She believes sportsmanship is her best strength. She felt at home when she visited the Bethel campus and believes she will excel academically.

Bethel Coach Clay Boyd was happy Chelsea chose Bethel. "This is a milestone for our program. Chelsea is a fine person with great talent. She will be a great student-athlete."
