McKenzie, Tenn. (06.23.10) - Bethel University Head Coach Jeff Britt has added another player to the Wildcat basketball squad. Joining the Cats this fall will be Javis Williams from Patterson, New Jersey.
The incoming 6'7 junior played at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor, New Jersey.
He is the son of Sylvia and Lawrence Williams.
Williams chose Bethel over Claflin University, Mid-Continent, Mt Olive, and Rogers State. Williams said he elected to come to Bethel because he liked the coaching staff and feels he will better himself as a player and student at the school.
He will be a Information Technology major.
He feels his strengths are scoring, defending, and getting everyone else involved. He thinks he needs to improve his ball handling skills.
Coach Britt likes Javis on and off the court. "Javis is an extremely athletic player who is also a very good person of high character. We welcome him to our basketball family and look forward to working with him."
