McKenzie, Tenn. (06.24.10) - Tyler Bruce of McKenzie has signed with the Bethel University Golf team.

The four year high school standout holds the nine hole record at McKenzie High with a 33. He won the 2009 Carroll Lake Junior championship.

The Physical Therapy major is the son of Brent and Angie Bruce of McKenzie.

Tyler believes his iron play is a big strength. He feels under the guidance of Bethel Head Coach Monte Cunningham he will improve his putting and short game.

Coach Cunningham commented on the local standout joining his program. "I am impressed with Tyler's maturity and calm demeanor, both of which will be great assets in intercollegiate golf." Coach Cunningham added, "Tyler will also receive the Ken Butler Scholarship which is awarded to McKenzie golfers who play for Bethel."
