Gustavo Andrade - Head Coach

Andrade takes Bethel College to new heights in two short years.

Although Gustavo Andrade has only been at the helm of the Bethel College Tennis program for two years, he has made great strides.  In his first year, the men won the KIAC title compiling a 21-4 (9-0) record.  The 2006 team was the first to be nationally ranked.  They reached the #16 spot and ended the season at #23.  The 2007 team improved over the 2006 effort and tackled a much tougher schedule.  The Wildcats equaled their record from the previous year going 21-4 (5-2).  They went 18-0 before suffering their first loss of the season at the hands of #4 Freed-Hardeman University.  But, the 2007 team earned the highest ranking in school history at #5 and finished the season ranked #11.

In 2007, Coach Andrade also took over the women's program and guided them to their first ever national ranking.  They reached #17 in the polls but fell to #20 in the final rankings.  The ladies finished the season with the best record in school history.

Coach Andrade has been recognized for his hard work, being named KIAC Coach of the Year in 2006 and TranSouth Conference Men's Coach of the Year in in 2007.
