Aaron Johnson - Assistant Coach
Aaron Johnson is entering his second year as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. Originally from Russellville, Kentucky, Coach Johnson is a 2000 graduate from Logan County High School.
In 2004 he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Accounting from Bethel College. While at Bethel, Coach Johnson lettered in baseball for four years and cross-country for two years. During his Junior season he received the A.O. Duer Award for Academic Excellence. After his senior season, he was selected 2nd Team KIAC All-Conference and NAIA Academic All-American.
In 2004 Coach Johnson was an assistant coach of the Logan County High School Boys Basketball Team. He returned to Bethel in the fall of 2005 and started as the pitching coach for the Bethel Baseball Team. Currently Coach Johnson is also an Assistant for the baseball team and will graduate in December with his Masters of Arts Education. He is married to the former Ashley Creasy of McKenzie, TN.
Craig Stephens - Assistant Coach
Craig Stephens begins his 1st season as an assistant coach at Bethel College under Jeff Britt.
Prior to Bethel, Stephens spent the 2006-2007 season at Crichton College in Memphis Tennessee as an assistant under Coach Jeff Walker. Crichton finished the season 29-7 and made the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history advancing to the Elite 8. The Comets finished as the TranSouth regular season and tournament champions.
Stephens spent the spring and summer of 2006 as the head men’s basketball coach at College Heights Christian Academy in Gallatin, TN.
Before arriving at College Heights, Stephens spent 04-05 and 05-06 at Middle Tennessee State University as a student assistant under Kermit Davis. While under Davis, Stephens earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in May of 2006.
Stephens is a Point Pleasant, West Virginia native and a 2001graduate of Lighthouse Christian School in Nashville, TN. While at LCS, Stephens earned All-District in basketball his senior year under Coach Kevin Baute. He also earned All-Region in football his senior season.
Coach Stephens and his wife Kim live in McKenzie Tennessee and he is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in secondary education.
