Larry Geraldi - Head Coach

It is a great honor and pleasure to return to my Alma Mater as head women's softball coach.  I graduated from Bethel in 1973 while playing baseball for the Wildcats.  My wife, Rita and I were married on the Bethel Campus in 1971.
God has bestowed many blessings on me including giving me the opportunity to coach at Bethel.  My wife, Rita (formerly Ferguson from Trenton, TN) has always been supportive and by my side through thick and thin.  She has made a wonderful home for myself and our three daughters while working as a teacher's assistant.  My oldest daughter, Lori is a Kindergarten teacher in New Johnsonville, Tn.  Lori and her husband, Shane have blessed us with two grandsons, Jacob (8) and Noah (4).  Our middle daughter, Maria lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband Mark.  They have blessed us with a precious granddaughter, Ainsley (2) and another granddaughter is due to arrive in Jan.  Maria works as an instructional lead teacher with the Cobb County School System.  Our youngest daughter, Leslie is a 2005 Bethel Graduate and was a member of the Bethel Lady Wildcat softball team.  Leslie worked as flight attendant for 1 1/2 years before returning to Bethel in 2007 to earn a Master's degree in education.  Leslie presently serves as a graduate assistant for the Lady Wildcat softball team.  (Education is very important in the Geraldi family).
After graduating from Bethel I earned a Master's degree in education from Murray State University and additional hours in administration & supervision from UTM while working in the public school system.  I worked 6 years for the Benton County Schools and 29 years for the Humphreys County Schools.  I served as teacher, coach, principal, and supervisor of instruction.
Our goals are to develop morally strong, well educated women who will be successful in their adult lives.  We will instill teamwork, sportsmanship, and hopefully be competitive as we strive for a championship.

I feel very fortunate to be a graduate assistant for the Bethel College Lady Wildcats and work with my Dad, Coach Larry Geraldi.  I am a 2005 Bethel graduate with a B.S. degree in elementary education.  After graduation I worked as a flight attendant with Southwest for 1 1/2 years.   It was during that time that I knew that teaching was my calling.  I will graduate in May with a Master's degree in education when I will pursue a elementary teaching position hopefully with a coaching opportuntiy.

I attended and graduated from Waverly Central High School in 2001 where I participated in softball and basketball.  After graduation I played 2 years at Jackson State Community College and finished my career playing 2 seasons for the Bethel Lady Wildcats.

I formed many memorable relationships with my teammates and hope to instill the team concept with this year's squad.  Hopefully, our off field work and practice will pay dividends in the win column for us this season.  This year's team has shown a lot of talent and heart during the fall and are coming together as a group that everyone connected with Bethel can be proud of.

Ashton McFarland is from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.  She lives with her parents Colette and Bud McFarland and her brother Trevor.  She attended Colorado Northwestern Community College for two years before transferring to Bethel in 2005.  Ashton was a first baseman and pitcher for the Bethel softball team from 2005 - 2007 and participated in the National Tournament in 2006.  She has come back as a student assistant and plans to graduate in May with a BA degree in English.  Ashton is really excited to be a part of the coaching staff for the 2007 - 2008 women's softball team, and cannot wait for a great season !
