Flavia Sanches joins Head Coach Starla Cupples as the student assistant coach after a stellar year as a Lady Wildcat. Sanches earned TranSouth All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in the 2006 season. Flavia earned her place in Bethel College Volleyball history by setting records in assists in a match and in a season. She also set new records for service aces in a match and in a season. She helped lead the 2006 Lady Wildcats to their best season record in the school’s history of volleyball.

The Sorocaba, Brazil native started her volleyball career in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1996. In 2003, Sanches began playing in the United States for Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, KS. She earned All-Conference and All-Region honors while at Dodge City. Sanches transferred to Long Island University in 2005 where her team won the region championship and finished the season in the second round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament.

Flavia is majoring in Business Administration and Management. She is the daughter of Nilton and Sonia Sanches.
