NASHVILLE, Tenn. - There are 22 men and 51 women on the 2012 TranSouth Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete team. Freed-Hardeman University topped the men's list with five individuals on the team while Trevecca Nazarene University placed eight women on the team to lead the way on the women's side.

In addition, there are seven (7) women and one male player who are being recognized as NAIA Scholar Athletes this season.

Scholar-Athlete Qualifications: TranSouth - Recipients must be a sophomore or above in academic standing; have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 (on a 4.0 scale). NAIA - (* = NAIA Scholar-Athlete) Recipients must be a junior or above in academic standing; been in attendance at the nominating institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale).
