Montgomery, AL – The Bethel Lady Wildcats appeared to have things in hand against Coastal Georgia Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Southern States Athletic Conference match-up in Montgomery, Alabama. Leading by double-digits most of the second half Bethel saw the Lady Mariners charge back to tie the game at 65 with just less than four minutes left. The two teams went toe to toe until CG's Olivia Melvin hit a short jumper to give the Lady Mariners a 74-73 lead with seven seconds remaining. After a time-out Bethel was forced to bring the ball the length of the court but fumbled away a chance for a game-winning shot. Coastal Georgia eked out the 74-73 win to move to 24-7 on the season. Bethel fell to 21-10 on the season.
