It’s Official -The Lady Cats are on their Way to Iowa

MCKENZIE, Tenn. –It's another chapter being written about the women's basketball program at Bethel University.

For the 16th time in program history a Bethel Women's basketball team left campus and departed for a national tournament appearance Tuesday morning.

This year the Lady Wildcats will appear in the Round of 16 of the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa.

The No. 1 seeded Lady Cats play Friday versus No. 4 seed Lewis Clark State with tip-off slated for 11 a.m. CT. Bethel is one of five MSC squads in the final round.

Bethel and LCS met in the big dance back in 2017 in Billings, Montana with Lewis Clark winning 69-58. Lewis Clark would advance to the title game before losing to Oklahoma City.

The Cats reached the Fab Four last year before falling to eventual national champion Dordt.

Several dozen fans, supporters, and staff joined the team in the wee hours of the morning (5:30 a.m.) Tuesday to send the team off with best wishes on the first leg of their journey to Sioux City.
