Bethel Hall-of Famer Named Trinity Christian Academy Girls Head Basketball Coach

JACKSON, Tenn.Jana Kahler has been named the new Trinity Christian Academy girls basketball coach, the school announced in a July 11 press release.

Trinity Christian Academy is excited to announce the appointment of Jana Kahler as their new Varsity Girls Head Basketball Coach. Over the past two years as an assistant coach, Jana has proven to be a tremendous asset to the program and school community.

Kahler played high school basketball at Obion Co. Central High School, where she helped lead the Rebels to the State Tournament in 2005 and was named a Finalist for Tennessee Miss Basketball in 2007. After graduating, she played one season at Murray State University, where the Racers won the 2009 OVC Regular Season title. She then transferred to Bethel University for the remaining three years of her collegiate career, playing under Chris Nelson. Jana helped lead the Wildcats to consecutive NAIA Tournament Sweet 16 appearances. In 2012, she was named a NAIA Second Team All-American. Kahler has since been inducted into the Obion Co. Central and Bethel University Hall of Fames.

Kahler's coaching career began as a Graduate Assistant at Union University, under Hall of Fame coach Mark Campbell. She served in this position for two seasons, where the Lady Bulldogs won the NCCAA National Title in 2014. After finishing her master's degree, Kahler coached at Union City High School, serving as a high school assistant under state championship Coach Eddie Suiter, as well as serving as head coach of the middle school program. In 2015, Kahler was named head basketball coach at South Gibson Co. Middle School. Over her eight-year career at South Gibson, she led the Hornets to multiple championships and was twice named Conference Coach of the Year.

TCA Athletic Director Dexter Williams says, "We're excited to have Coach Kahler step into the role of Varsity Girls Head Basketball Coach. She's ready for this next step and has already built strong relationships with our girls that will serve the program well. I look forward to seeing her lead and succeed in this new role."

Head of School Judy Brown adds, "Coach Kahler's passion, intentionality, pursuit of excellence, and love for God is evident in all she does. We are honored for Coach Kahler to build upon the foundation and rich legacy of TCA's Girls Basketball Program in this new season."

Coach Kahler says, "I'm incredibly appreciative to Mrs. Brown, Coach Williams, and the entire TCA family for entrusting me with the opportunity to lead this program. Over the years, Trinity has proven to be a place that can create championship caliber teams and athletes that shine brightly at the high school level and beyond. When I look at the present and future of this program, I know that the ceiling is high. I'm humbled and excited to be given the chance to help guide the incredible young women in this school to help them achieve their fullest potential, both on and off the court."

Jana and her husband, Scott, have been married for 10 years. They have two daughters, Caroline (7) and Claire (4), who are both students at Trinity Christian Academy. They attend Calvary Baptist Church.
