Athletics Hall-of-Fame Nominations Being Accepted

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel University Athletic Department is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Bethel University Athletic Hall of Fame Class.

Each year during Homecoming Weekend, Bethel proudly recognizes former student-athletes, coaches, administrators, staff members, and contributors whose accomplishments and dedication have left a lasting impact on Wildcat Athletics.

The 2026 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Friday, October 16, as part of Homecoming festivities. Additional details regarding the event will be announced at a later date.

Since its inception in 1980, the Bethel University Athletic Hall of Fame has honored 123 individuals and six teams, making the 2026 class the 45th Hall of Fame class to be inducted.

To be considered for induction, nominees should meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Former student-athletes, coaches, administrators, or alumni who have distinguished themselves through athletics at Bethel University.
  • Individuals who demonstrated outstanding athletic achievement at Bethel or who later achieved distinction in high school, collegiate, or professional athletics.
  • A minimum of 10 years must have passed since the nominee's graduation or final year of athletic participation at Bethel.
  • Individuals who have rendered distinguished or exceptional service to Bethel University Athletics.

Nominations will be accepted through September 15.

Bethel University Vice President of Athletics Derek Horne encourages alumni, former teammates, and Wildcat supporters to take part in the nomination process.

"Our Athletic Hall of Fame represents the rich tradition and outstanding legacy of Bethel Athletics," Horne said. "We are proud of the men and women who have already been inducted, but we also know there are many deserving individuals who have yet to be nominated. We encourage our alumni, fans, and friends of the university to help us identify those deserving candidates. Anyone whose graduation or final season of participation was in 2016 or earlier is now eligible for nomination."
