Bethel University Women’s Golf 2026-27 Season Preview

Heading into the 2026-27 season, the Bethel University women's golf team is positioned for continued success. The Lady Wildcats hope to build on last year's momentum and make further strides in the highly competitive Mid-South Conference and on the national stage.

Bethel captured multiple tournament titles last season and earned the highest national ranking in program history at No. 30.

The Lady Wildcats must replace three players, including four-year members Durbin Chacon and Tessa Myers. Seniors Merle Chacon and Martina Gonzalez return to provide leadership and consistent, high-level performances. Junior Allijah Griffith is also poised to make an impact in the lineup after gaining valuable experience during her first two seasons.

Four talented newcomers will join the program this season, highlighted by hometown standout Charli Weatherford. She arrives at Bethel with an impressive résumé that includes numerous district, regional and state honors, along with strong results on the junior circuit.

Freshman Ruby Savage comes to Bethel from Redditch, England. Savage served as the Worcestershire and Herefordshire Girls County Captain and was previously named the committee's Player of the Year.

Skylar Waller, a native of Benton, Kentucky, joins the Lady Wildcats from Southeastern Florida University and will be a sophomore. The Marshall County High School graduate was a member of two Kentucky state runner-up teams in 2023 and 2024. She also qualified individually for the state tournament as an eighth grader.

Perry County standout Enzley Denton rounds out the group of newcomers. Denton was a four-time all-district and all-region performer and also earned an appearance in the state tournament.

Under the direction of coaches Larry Joe Smith, Wyatt Glover and Ben Glover, the program emphasizes technical development, academic excellence, and character.

The new Jerry Wilcoxson Training Facility will provide the Lady Wildcats with a first-class resource for year-round practice and player development. Bethel's continued investment in its golf programs is expected to provide a competitive advantage in recruiting while helping current student-athletes reach their full potential.

With an experienced group of returners, a talented recruiting class and enhanced training opportunities, the Lady Wildcats enter the 2026-27 season ready to continue the program's upward momentum.
