Bat Cats Drop DH to Mighty Oaks

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats played host to Oakland City in a baseball doubleheader Tuesday at Wildcat Park.

The Mighty Oaks won 4-2 in game one.

The Mighty Oaks took a 1-0 lead with a run in the first.

 Bethel's Paden New scored on an error to tie the game in the bottom of the frame.

Oakland City pushed across three runs in the third with the big blow coming off the bat of Treven Madden who socked a two-run homer.

Trailing 4-1 in the fifth, Brandon Armour hit his first collegiate home run to pull the Cats to within 4-2. The Oaks would hold on for the win shutting down the Cats in the last two innings. Noah Willingham suffered the loss while Owen Spears picked up the OCU win.

Bethel out hit the visitors from Indiana 7-4 but left nine on base.

Game two saw both teams struggle at the plate. OCU scored the lone run in the top of the seventh. Payton Hall's RBI single proved to be the difference in the 1-0 win for the Oaks. OCU outhit Bethel 5-4 in the game.

Armour was charged with the loss while Will Davis picked up the Oakland City win.

Bethel dropped to 12-23 on the season.

The Mighty Oaks are 23-16. The Oaks have won four straight.

The Wildcats close out their regular season Tuesday at Missouri Baptist with the first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
